Read good things about this place so came with high expectations. It was overall just okay, considering the price of the bakes as well. Would have been better if some of the food didn’t taste so soggy - like the crab croquette bun - after being warmed up (maybe they used microwave instead of toaster oven). Flat white was good even though the coffee is machine-made.
It’s not the same as before. Used to frequent here 2 years back. The standard has gone down considerably. The freshness of ingredients particularly so. I mean, the salmon was hard. And so was the bun.
Well, the demand and crowding situation in the store seems to have also fallen in tandem.
Undoubtedly one of the best destinations for croissants and pains au chocolat in Singapore. This small Japanese bakery brings a slice of Japan to the heart of the City-State. The pastries are undeniably worth the often lengthy wait, and the café has limited seating capacity, primarily catering to takeaway orders. It's important to mention that the coffee is machine-made, so there isn't much to write about it.

🌟 8/10
📍 United Square Mall, Novena
💰 Pork Cutlet Bun $5.9, Mascarpone Red Bean Bun $3.3, Red Bean Croissant $4.3, 3 Cheese w Honey $2.8, Mentaiko Bread $2.4
This Japanese bakery opens from 8am-5pm but you'll definitely want to come before noon as most of the bread would have been sold out by then😰🔥. The place has a small seating area with really good down lighting, suitable for having a small meal while enjoying the vibes.
The bread are abit pricer than normal bakery but they are definitely worth the splurge once in a while!!! Would recommend their Mascarpone red bean bread as even though it looks small, the filling is heavy and generous🤤 Their red bean in general is sweet and would recommend them. Mentaiko bread is sooo innocent but is a hidden gem among their breads, the saltiness is quite refreshing. Although the pork cutlet is highly raved, do not expect a very tender and juicy one but still very worth the price💯💯

I was exploring for Japanese bakery lately and delighted to walk into Kamome Bakery. The selection of the breads are considerably broad from soft buns, sliced bread to croissants as that of some reputable bakeries in the country. Without hesitation I grab for the sesame bun, menlo and mentaiko. Overall bread was fresh though the price point can be slightly on the higher end. The bakery also serve coffee to go with their choices of bread and yes, they open as early as 8am daily except Wednesday. Can try out if you are curios to experiment your taste buds!
Best: soft bun with red bean and a generous slice of butter (2.50)
lots of other breads, buns, croissants and sandwiches. There was also a clam chowder avail, but no other hot food.
We had tea (paper cup with plastic cover, tea bag in hot water).
If you wanted your pâtisserie to be warmed, do ask. There was a sign but I missed it.
Ample seating available at 11am Tuesday.
Entrance faces United Square.
Small and cute Japanese style bakery near Novena. Their buns are always so soft and fluffy. My personal favorites are the kid's red bean butter bun and truffle salt bun. The mascarpone red bean bun and kouig amann with chestnut are super delicious as well. And their pudding is a must try! It's perfectly creamy and soft, and not too sweet. Forgot to take pictures cause I couldn't wait to dig into the delicious stuff 😋
Update: came back after some time to try their limited time items. Delicious fresh fruits from Japan paired with flaky, buttery pastry is a combination made in heaven. My favorites are the white peach and fig danish 👌
Super cute, wholesome and family friendly bakery/ cafe. Had the croissant breakfast set, as well as the ham and cheese croissant set. The bread and pastries were extraordinarily fresh soft and delicate, and so delicious even when eaten plain. The sides, such as the rockets salad and pickled carrots, complemented the dish and made the brunch feel healthy and clean. However, I would skip the ham and cheese croissant as the ham and cheese had a cheap processed taste and distracted from the croissant’s freshness. The flat white was surprisingly good and the kiwi and strawberry tea was refreshing and stimulating to my tastebuds. I love this place and would definitely come back for a revisit.
